Communications Megan Gallagher produces messages, citizen education materials, media kits and advertising for conservation advocacy campaigns. She researches, edits and produces guides to effective conservation, preservation and compatible economic development. Megan helps non-profit groups redefine their communications through careful analysis and new or updated print materials and websites. Some examples: Shenandoah Valley Network Megan provided all communication services to SVN from 2004-2009 and continues to provide assistance in messaging and public outreach.
VES Land Trust Megan provided all communications services to VES Land Trust from 2002-2005 and continues to provide general assistance.
Pathways: Building a Local Initiative for Compatible Economic Development Megan researched, partially wrote and provided the final edit for a detailed community guide to compatible development, published by The Nature Conservancy’s Center for Compatible Economic Development.
Crossroads: Addressing Conservation Issues in the Economic Development Process in Virginia Megan researched, wrote and edited case studies about and community guidelines for compatible economic development. Published by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
Virginia’s River Country: Regional Strategic Economic Development Plan Megan wrote and edited the final report on a regional plan for compatible economic development in six counties, for the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission. Profiting from Preservation Megan served as the initial project manager and editor of this ongoing effort to demonstrate the significant economic benefits of historic preservation in the Mosby Heritage Area in four northern Virginia counties.
Hampton Roads Cities Readiness Initiative Megan researched, wrote and edited a comprehensive report on local planning for a pandemic health emergency in the Tidewater, published by the Virginia Department of Health. Sentinel Newspapers/Cedar Creek Campaign Megan wrote and edited broadsheet newspapers on the Cedar Creek mining rezoning for the Preserve Frederick citizens group, which were mailed to 27,500 households in Frederick County, Virginia.
